The award ceremony for the third edition of the “Carlo Saetti – Opocrin S.p.A.” Degree Awards was held at the Unimore Campus in via Campi, Modena, assigning four awards to recognize the outstanding academic careers of students enrolled in Unimore’s single-cycle degree in Pharmacy, single-cycle degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology.
The prize reserved for students graduating within the standard course duration in the 2024/25 academic year in the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, chaired by Prof. Federica Pellati, went to Alice Di Renzo for her thesis titled: “Neuroprotective potential of policosanols derived from Cannabis sativa in cellular models of neuroinflammation”.
The prize reserved for students graduating within the standard course duration in the 2024/25 academic year in the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, chaired by Prof. Barbara Ruozi, was assigned to Elisa Lugli for her thesis: “Development of an injectable, prevascularized hydrogel as a therapeutic strategy for myocardial infarction”.
The prize reserved for students graduating within the standard course duration in the 2024/25 academic year in the Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, chaired by Prof. Carol Imbriano, was won by Giorgia Casini for her thesis: “An in vitro model for the study of Retinitis Pigmentosa”.
The final prize, reserved for students graduating within the standard course duration in the 2024/2025 academic year in the Master’s Degree in Medical Biotechnology, chaired by Prof. Alessandra Recchia, went to Elena Del Toro for her thesis: “Stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles improve neuronal mitochondrial damage induced by exposure to ROS and LPS: an in vitro triple co-culture model of neurons, microglia and astrocytes”.
